A Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer was calmly patrolling in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, when she came across the least expected suspect: a fox standing on the grass, happy, with its mouth full of sausages.
No one knows where it got them. But that did not stop police from posting the photo on Instagram with a report worthy of a criminal case: red-haired suspect, short in stature, thick coat, caught trying to hide the evidence nearby.
Corporal Mathew Howell told The Washington Post that they were just trying to make people smile, and they definitely succeeded: the comments section filled up with verdicts in the fox’s favor. ‘He’s innocent, he could have gotten those sausages anywhere,’ someone wrote. In the end, the suspect was released without charges… and with a full stomach.
