23.9 million euros. That is the amount Kerad Holding, Gerard Piqué’s company, lost in 2022 📉 A year earlier it had earned more than 8 million, so the blow was no small matter: it was the worst result since the company has existed.
Part of the explanation lies in the Davis Cup. Kosmos, the holding company’s sports arm, had a 25-year agreement with the ITF to organize the tournament.
That deal fell apart at the beginning of 2023 because the parties could not agree on how much Kosmos was supposed to pay, and the ITF retained a 25 million euro bond as a guarantee.
Even so, the company closed the year with net equity of 41 million euros, so its solvency remains intact. But the hit to the numbers was there, just as Piqué’s life off the field was already turbulent 👀
