Pamela was 36 when her gynecologist recommended that she freeze her eggs.

At the time, hardly anyone talked about it, but Dr. Francisco Kaplan knew about the possibility and referred her to Clínica de la Mujer, one of the first clinics in Chile to perform fertility treatments.

She had had a couple of relationships, but none had developed into a family, so she decided to go it alone.

She chose the donor after carefully reviewing the medical history. Genetic testing of her embryos left only one viable embryo. After the transfer, she waited 12 days to take a pregnancy test, and the result confirmed that everything had gone well.

Eight years after that decision, Nicanor was born by planned C-section, and today he is already 2 months old.

Pamela says her pregnancy was uneventful and that her family supported her every step of the way. She has this advice for women who have doubts about motherhood: trust that desire and the support networks they can build.
