Keyla Valentina Juárez Labrador was 7 years old and had an oncological illness that her body could no longer withstand.
But before she left, life gave her a perfect afternoon. Aldosivi invited her to the José María Minella Stadium and let her step onto the pitch hand in hand with the footballers she admired so much. That day, the Mar del Plata team thrashed Banfield 3-1 and ended a run of 23 matches without a win, right on the debut of its new coach. Keyla left with a number 10 shirt signed by the entire squad, arranged thanks to the OportuniDar organization, which weeks earlier had launched a campaign to find blood donors and financial assistance for her treatment.
On Monday night, just days after that photo spread throughout Mar del Plata, Keyla became ill and died at the Materno Infantil Hospital. The club that made her feel like one more footballer now bids farewell to her as an eternal fan.
