Gang member posed as a priest to avoid arrest in El Salvador: he was with MS-13, and his tattoos gave him away

In Sonsonate Oeste, a man would attend Mass dressed as a priest.

No one suspected that beneath the cassock he had MS-13 tattoos. For years, according to Salvadoran authorities, he used his proximity to the Catholic Church as the perfect cover to move around without arousing suspicion and keep his true identity within the criminal organization hidden.

The curious thing is that it had almost always been evangelical pastors who were caught infiltrating congregations. This is the first time a case of someone posing as a Catholic priest has been confirmed. When agents apprehended him, the tattoos on his skin told the story the cassock was trying to hide. He now faces legal proceedings while authorities review every detail of his time at the parish.
