Thirteen years later, in January 2023, on the day she turned 18, her grandfather made a simple suggestion: “You just turned 18, go buy a lottery ticket, try your luck.” Juliette had never bought one before, so she had to call her dad to find out how to do it.
She found out the result while she was working. Her coworkers were talking about a winning ticket from her city. She checked the app. A melody played.
