Glenn Close took the stage, and time seemed to turn back thirty years.

It was Saturday, August 15, 2026, in the middle of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, in Anaheim, California. The 79-year-old actress appeared wearing the black-and-white wig, the red-and-black fur coat, and the pillbox hat that made her unforgettable in ‘101 Dalmatians’ (1996) and its 2000 sequel. Not a single detail was out of place: it seemed as though she had never taken off the costume, the very same one she negotiated to keep after filming both movies.

But it was not just nostalgia. Close took the opportunity to confirm that Villains Land, the new themed area at Walt Disney World in Orlando, will have an attraction dedicated to Cruella de Vil. Emma Stone brought the villain to life in 2021, but for millions of fans, the real Cruella is still this 79-year-old woman who can bring her back to life simply by putting on the coat.
