Goldie is four years old, a Nigerian Dwarf goat, and no one told her that goats do not fight fires.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department was battling the Rock Creek fire when she appeared through the smoke and took the lead of the crew, walking straight toward the flames as if she knew every trail in the forest. For hours, she chewed leaves and bushes, clearing the plant fuel feeding the fire. A real mitigation technique, carried out by a four-legged volunteer.
When the job was done, she escorted the firefighters back to the trucks and even chased one as it drove away. Her owners were waiting for her at home, safe and sound. The video has already racked up millions of views, and you can see why.
