Gordon Ramsay revealed a painful part of his childhood by saying that he once ate toothpaste and condensed milk to ease his hunger when he was a child. Today he is one of the most famous chefs in the world, but he grew up in a difficult environment where food was not always guaranteed.

The memory resurfaced while he was visiting a community center in Leicester, where he spent time with children and families affected by food shortages during the school holidays. Ramsay joined the work of Feeding Britain and also made a significant donation alongside his wife, Tana.

The contrast is striking: a chef with restaurants around the world talking about the boy who once looked for anything to fill his stomach.
