It’s never too late to fulfill a dream! At 78 years old, Arturo Bello decided to return to the classroom at the Fermín Vivaceta Institute in Lo Barnechea, Chile, to learn to read and write.

As a child, being part of a family of nine siblings, he had to leave school to work in gardening and cleaning.

Today he is in second grade and, in addition to studying, he is an active cyclist in a well-known club called “Los cóndores”. His family is very proud; after being widowed young and battling depression, this great man keeps moving forward.

His granddaughter says: “It was very hard for me to teach him to write some things, and now he will be able to again”. His daughter was moved by his success and commented: “He has always wanted to learn”. A true example of perseverance!
