His granddaughter Kelsey Harmon was the only one who did arrive, and seeing him like that, sad and surrounded by plates no one would touch, she took out her phone. She posted a photo holding a hamburger beside him, with a simple message: he made food for six, and she was the only one to show up.
The tweet was shared more than 130.000 times and sparked outrage that crossed borders: thousands of people pointed to the indifference of the absent grandchildren and the quiet abandonment suffered by so many grandparents. Days later, the story took an unexpected turn — a massive cookout brought together hundreds of strangers who came just to hug Kenny and tell him he was not alone.
