England beat Mexico 3-2 at Estadio Azteca and punched their ticket to the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup. Harry Kane, 32, scored from the penalty spot and provided the assist for the second goal. Up to that point, everything was normal for the captain and his national team’s all-time leading scorer.

The problem came afterward. Kane celebrated at the top of his lungs by singing Oasis’s ‘Wonderwall’ with the England fans, and when it was time to speak to the BBC, his voice was already gone. ‘I can’t talk much,’ he managed to whisper, in a tone that social media compared to Mickey Mouse and even Chabelo.

You’d laugh too if you saw England’s deadliest scorer sounding like a cartoon character right after scoring the goal that sent them into the quarterfinals. Sometimes sporting glory comes at a cost, and in this case it was literal: he lost his voice from so much shouting. 😂🎙️
