This police dog took part in an operation in which his sense of smell helped detect hidden drugs. Once the procedure was over, it was time to photograph some of what had been seized, and he too earned his rightful place next to the evidence.
The image ended up drawing attention for a detail that was much less police-related: while numerous packages containing the substances found appear behind him, the protagonist poses with his eyes closed, his tongue sticking out, and an expression that seems to show absolute satisfaction.
Dogs trained for this type of operation can use their sense of smell to detect substances and other items hidden in places that would be much harder to find during a conventional inspection.
But the internet practically ignored the technical explanation. To many, his expression said something much simpler: mission accomplished, and now someone should give that good boy a reward.
