Just a few months ago, Hayden Panettiere recounted in her memoir and on a podcast that at 18, a friend she trusted took her to a yacht and left her in a bed next to a famous British musician, much older than her, completely naked.

She had to struggle to keep him from touching her and spent the rest of the night hiding, alone, not knowing who to turn to.

She never revealed the name of the musician or the friend who put her in that situation.

She kept them to herself, perhaps waiting for the right moment, perhaps protecting herself from the consequences of pointing the finger at someone powerful.

Now those names could be buried along with her.

Hollywood has a long history of consuming its young stars and discarding them when they no longer serve the narrative.
Another young mother fades away, and the industry falls silent once again.
