Hayden Panettiere was 36 years old when her heart stopped in an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina.
It was Sunday, August 16, 2026. According to the police report obtained by TMZ, her boyfriend Brian Hickerson was sleeping in another room when her brother, Zach, found her with no vital signs and called 911. At the scene, Brian showed officers a bag containing nine different medications she was taking—the names were redacted from the document—and paramedics found Narcan, the device used to reverse opioid overdoses, on a mattress. Epinephrine was also administered before she was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m., less than an hour after the call.
The autopsy showed no signs of trauma on her body. But toxicology results are not yet available, so the official cause of her death remains unknown. Meanwhile, police are reviewing the building’s security cameras to reconstruct every minute of that afternoon.
