Hayden Panettiere was already known for Heroes when she accepted a different challenge: stepping into Sam’s shoes for Until Dawn, one of PlayStation 4’s most beloved horror video games.
It was 2015, and the actress did not just provide the voice. She also did motion capture, something uncommon for a star of her caliber at the time, sharing the cast with actors such as Rami Malek and Brett Dalton in a survival story that became a cult favorite among gamers.
Her Sam was so memorable that she returned nearly a decade later: in 2024, the remake arrived for PS5 and PC with Panettiere back in the role, and in 2025 the story made the leap to the big screen. Long before that, her voice had already left its mark on another generation as Kairi in the first Kingdom Hearts games.
