Hayden Panettiere remembers every second of that day. “Every fucking second”, she said. The day she gave up her daughter Kaya, born in 2014 with Wladimir Klitschko, was not a cold decision or abandonment. It was the lowest point of a silent battle against postpartum depression and addiction.

For years, she carried an idea that haunted her more than any diagnosis. That the world thought she had simply given away her daughter. “Nothing could be further from the truth”, she confessed. When she finally managed to recover, Kaya already had a life built in Europe, and Hayden understood that uprooting her from there would have been an act of selfishness, not love.

She called her her “mini-me” 🥹 . They talked all the time, she felt connected despite the distance, and she only hoped for the day Kaya would fully understand her story. That of a mother who loved so much that she was able to let go.
