Eden Hazard recounted that he never intended to inherit Real Madrid’s historic number 7 shirt, since he wanted to wear number 10 as he had been doing at Chelsea. The problem? Luka Modric was using it, and Hazard tried to convince him without much success:
“I didn’t want the 7, I wanted the 10. I asked Luka Modric for it and thought he would tell me to keep it, but he didn’t give it to me and walked away laughing”, the Belgian recounted.
