Amauri Fernandes didn’t change clothes. He arrived at the Army graduation in his Comlurb uniform, the urban cleaning company in Rio de Janeiro where he has worked for 16 years, to see his wife, Amanda Guedes, bring to a close a chapter that took a long time to build.

They have been married for 25 years. While she devoted her time to her studies, he kept the household going: he was there for the family when Amanda couldn’t be, and never stopped encouraging her. She said it publicly, already wearing her military uniform: “I’m here today thanks to all his support, which gave me all the strength I needed and never let me give up”.

The video shows Amauri watching the ceremony up close, celebrating with pride. He shared the photo himself with a phrase that went viral: “That day, two uniforms met. But above all, two stories came together to celebrate an achievement that belongs to them both”.
