He bought the plane’s WiFi and streamed the match for 187 passengers in Argentina’s win against Egypt

In the middle of a flight and thousands of meters up, a passenger decided to pay for the plane’s WiFi service so he wouldn’t miss the match between Argentina and Egypt at the 2026 World Cup.

What seemed like a personal decision ended up drawing the attention of those traveling around him, who began to gather to follow the match on his device’s screen.

Within minutes, 187 passengers gathered around the seat to experience every play as if they were in the stands. Shouts, applause, and nerves turned the cabin into a small stadium.

Once again showing that a passion for soccer can bring complete strangers together, even in the middle of a flight.
