He and his volunteers pulled 200 bags of waste, used syringes, knives, firearms, and even a motorcycle from the riverbed. They restored 280 meters of the river. On June 17, 2026, the UK Environment Agency opened a criminal investigation into him. The charge: carrying out that cleanup without the permit required under the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016. If convicted, he could face up to two years in prison. Yes, for cleaning a river the government never cleaned. 😤

Why doesn’t the State go after those who dumped those syringes, those weapons, and that motorcycle into the stream with the same determination? Bureaucracy trapped the volunteer who took action — and still has not touched those who polluted it.
