Martin Glynn, a 93-year-old man, was brutally tortured for nearly 28 hours by Samuel Field, a man who called himself his friend and whom he had known for almost two decades. Field was sure that the elderly man had “betrayed” him by giving information about him to a mysterious “Irishman” who, according to police, did not exist.
The elderly man suffered brain hemorrhages, fractures in his neck, and severe blows all over his body. Hidden cameras inside the apartment showed the attacker walking around completely calmly while the victim remained lying on the floor, unable to move. When police arrived, they found the elderly man abandoned inside a shower. Even so, Martin managed to say the name of his killer before dying months later in the hospital.
Field was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
