Daniel Correa was a famous 24-year-old Brazilian footballer, and he had a dangerous habit: telling a friend everything on WhatsApp.
That night in October 2018, in Curitiba, he wrote to him that he was going to get into Cristiana Brittes’s bed during her daughter’s birthday party. He sent him photos next to the woman while she slept. The friend replied that they were going to beat him up if they found him there, but Correa stayed anyway.
They discovered him hours later, in that same bed. They beat him mercilessly, put him in the trunk of a car, and took him to a vacant lot on the outskirts of the city. That was where it all ended: the body appeared on October 27 with injuries that spoke of violence too great for one person alone, although only the woman’s husband confessed to doing it.
The photos he himself sent to show off later became the evidence that reconstructed his final hours of life.
