The president of La Liga gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport and went straight at Gianni Infantino: “FIFA is destroying the football industry”, he said bluntly, and openly called for the Swiss official to step down from the presidency of the organization.
Tebas went even further. He claimed that Infantino’s time “has already come to an end”, but that he remains in power because he has the backing of a system that he himself described as “sick from its very origins”. According to him, no one dares to run as an alternative candidate because they know they would lose. He also took aim at FIFA’s management throughout the tournament, accusing the organization of moving everything according to its own interests. 🔥⚽
