José Antonio had spent years living on the streets of Spain, with long hair, a completely white beard, and an appearance that made him look much older than he really was.
Everything changed when he agreed to go into a hair salon in Mallorca. There, they didn’t just cut his hair: they also trimmed his beard, darkened his gray hair, and gave him new clothes to complete the transformation.
When he finally looked in the mirror, not even he could believe the result. “Is that me? No one is going to recognize me”, he said, emotional as he saw a version of himself that seemed to have been hidden for years.
And he was right. Beneath all that hair appeared a man who looked decades younger, with a much more modern style and a completely different presence. In fact, many said he looked like an actor or a model.
Today José Antonio no longer lives on the street. According to what he later said, he receives financial help from a company and also from people who were moved by his story. His change began in a hair salon, but it ended up opening a much bigger door for him: the possibility of starting over.
