Andrés Mieles is 11 years old and survived the double earthquake that struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026. He survived, but he lost his parents, a brother, and a leg. He was left in the care of his uncle Alexander, hospitalized at the Miguel Pérez Carreño hospital in Caracas, with the weight of the whole world on his shoulders.
When someone asked him what he wanted, he did not ask for anything material. He only wanted Cristiano Ronaldo’s sticker from the Panini World Cup album. A Venezuelan content creator, Armando Poyo, found out and made that story go much farther than Andrés had imagined.
On Friday, July 3, Ronaldo recorded a video for him. He told him that he admired his strength, and invited him to come watch him play as soon as he recovers. Portugal plays the round of 16 on Monday against Spain, but for Andrés the most important match is one he has already won.
