Jack Hughes, the New Jersey Devils player who scored the golden goal in overtime against Canada at the Milan 2026 Olympic Games and lost two teeth from a stick to the face in the process, is dating Canadian pop singer Tate McRae.
It all began when Hughes messaged her on Instagram and they struck up a conversation. They were first seen together in November 2025 at a dinner at Anton’s restaurant in New York, where according to witnesses “the whole restaurant was watching them”. In December 2025, Tate was seen cheering him on at a Devils game, and in February 2026 a source confirmed that they are dating exclusively.
It’s not the first time McRae has fallen for a hockey player: she previously dated Cole Sillinger and then The Kid LAROI, with whom she had a rather noisy breakup in 2025.
