The rivalry between Mexico and Argentina has left the soccer fields and moved straight into television studios, and this time the clash has been truly ruthless. After controversial Argentine host Eduardo Feinmann lit the fuse with harsh statements that wounded Mexican pride, the response from the Aztec country came with the force of a hurricane, making it clear that they are not going to allow a single act of disrespect anymore.

In front of the cameras, a Mexican journalist picked apart Feinmann’s supposed “clarification”, exposing him before millions of viewers with a criticism that struck deep.

For Mexican journalism, Feinmann’s words were not an honest clarification, but rather a desperate and calculated attempt to clean up his image without backing down. The Mexican host’s attack went straight for the jugular:

“He planned his speech so much that at no point was he able to utter the word ‘sorry.’ Do you know why? Out of arrogance”, he fired off without hesitation, accusing the Argentine of lacking the humility needed to acknowledge an international offense.

“In Mexico we know very well who we are and what we are worth… It is you who need us more”

The media counterattack was not limited to pointing out the lack of an explicit apology. The Mexican presenter said that Feinmann’s attitude reflects a sector of the press that believes itself untouchable behind a microphone, but trembles when the public demands accountability from them. He called him arrogant and accused him of using rhetoric to camouflage his high-handedness.
