Molly Terranova captured the exact moment when her three friends, Dante, Josh, and Jahmir, shaved their heads to support her mother, who was losing her hair after starting chemotherapy for breast cancer.
“She had recently started chemotherapy and was losing a lot of hair, which was causing her a great deal of anxiety because she never knew how much she would lose each day. Seeing our friends shave their heads so she wouldn’t have to face that experience alone meant a lot to our family”, said Terranova.
The emotional images of the family hugging each other moved everyone online, but her friends didn’t just want to support her symbolically. One friend also started a GoFundMe campaign to support the family, raising more than 2.000 dollars while the woman continued undergoing treatment.
