He could have saved a life, but decided to run away to save his own skin.
In 1997, a brutal incident would forever mark the history of Nevada, United States.

Jeremy Strohmeyer and David Cash Jr. were at the Primadonna Resort & Casino in Primm, when they came across 7-year-old Sherrice Iverson, who was wandering alone around the place.

Strohmeyer initiated playful contact with the little girl, something that did not seem strange to David. However, an unexpected turn would occur: Sherrice wanted to go to the bathroom and Jeremy followed her.
David then decided to go in as well, and inside he saw Strohmeyer roughly force Iverson into a stall.

Cash Jr. then had the opportunity to change this story, but he would do the exact opposite.
“He looked at me with an empty face, so, in my opinion, I thought it was time to get out of there”, Cash said in an interview, adding that he did not want to see what was about to happen.

“But did you tell him to stop, that what he was doing was wrong?”, a journalist asked him.
“I didn’t say it verbally, but my body language suggested it”, he defended himself against the accusation.
According to what could be seen on the surveillance camera, David left 2 minutes after entering the bathroom, while Strohmeyer did so after 20 minutes.

In short, Cash could have saved the girl, but chose “not to see” the fatal outcome.
Cash has never expressed remorse for what happened to Iverson.
