A case of extreme violence has shocked Brazil after it became known that Vinícius Gomes Castro da Silva, 26, attacked his ex-partner, Samara Santos de Oliveira, 21.
The attacker was waiting outside the young woman’s home on April 30, 2026, and when he saw that an acquaintance had dropped her off there, he decided to approach her and threaten her. Through intimidation, he forced her to go to a motel in Belford Roxo, where he strangled her until she lost consciousness after she refused to resume the relationship.
Although the man took her to her relatives’ home to seek medical help, the event promoter died upon arriving at a hospital in the Rio de Janeiro area on Friday, May 1.
