Peter Beetham is a 49-year-old father from Winsford, England, who traveled to Gran Canaria on March 13 to celebrate the end of his chemotherapy.

The tourist was resting by a pool when he began vomiting a liter of blood and suddenly fainted. At a local hospital, he was told he was suffering from heatstroke and was prescribed hydrating drinks, but after noticing constant bleeding he returned to Great Britain.

After being admitted to Manchester Royal Infirmary, doctors discovered that an ulcer caused his intestine to burst due to a previous pancreas removal performed in August 2025, requiring surgeries and seven blood transfusions.
