Prichard Colón was 23 years old and had an unbroken dream: 16 fights, 16 victories, no defeats. They called him Digget. He had been a Pan American youth champion, and he trained with the quiet certainty of those who know they are going to go far.
On October 17, 2015, he stepped into the ring in Virginia against Terrel Williams. Nine rounds later, he collapsed in the locker room.

His father, Richard, never let go of him for a single day. In 2021, the World Boxing Council named him honorary champion and gave him the green-and-gold belt he had dreamed of since childhood. Prichard could no longer lift it with his hands, but it was his.
He died on August 13, 2026, at 33 years old. One of his last wishes was to return to Puerto Rico for a vacation. He did not make it in time.
