Talyn Vigil is 20 years old and is accused of beating 16-year-old Preston Lord to death at a Halloween party in Queen Creek, Arizona, in 2023. He has been awaiting trial under house arrest and electronic monitoring ever since. He was supposed to stay put at home.
He did not. On September 17, 2026, Tempe police found him illegally street racing on a motorcycle near Arizona State University, weaving through traffic and burning rubber in the middle of the street alongside another rider. It was his third arrest since he was released on bail.
A judge had previously denied the prosecutor’s request to increase his bail or lock him up again. This time, he paid just 5.000 dollars and had his driver’s license revoked. The trial for the crime that has him under monitoring remains scheduled for November, along with that of the other six defendants in the group known as the Gilbert Goons.
