Henry Cavill wasn’t always the most desired man. At school they made fun of his body: they called him “Fat Cavill”

Today Henry Cavill seems carved by the gods themselves: an actor, handsome, elegant, muscular, and with that Superman face that made half the world swoon. But before becoming one of the most desired men in film, his story with his body was quite different.

When he was in school, Henry said that he was overweight and that his classmates teased him with a cruel nickname: “Fat Cavill”. He wasn’t the Hollywood heartthrob or the hero in a red cape; he was a boy who had to endure mockery because of his appearance, as if that didn’t leave scars.

In fact, for years he spoke about how difficult it was to grow up feeling watched because of his body. He studied at a boarding school, far from home, and that nickname ended up following him through a stage when any comment weighs twice as much. Because mockery like that doesn’t stay only in the schoolyard: many times it settles in your head.

But Henry didn’t stay frozen in that version others invented of him. Over time he grew up, trained, started working on his career, and transformed his body, though without completely erasing what he went through. More than once he has acknowledged that those insecurities marked him, even after becoming famous.

And then Superman arrived. The same boy who was teased about his body ended up becoming the man everyone wanted to see in a tight suit, with impossible muscles and the gaze of a calm hero.

So yes, Henry Cavill wasn’t always that symbol of desire the internet adores today. Before, he was a boy they called “Fat Cavill”… and who ended up proving that no one should be reduced to the worst nickname they were given at school.
