Farah Faizal, from Malaysia, looked in the mirror and did not recognize her own face. She was two months pregnant when her skin began to redden, swell, and fill with pustules that no product could soothe. She felt her nose burning and noticed new wrinkles forming above her eyebrows, as if time had suddenly sped up.

For nine months, she lived with that silent chaos, typical of pregnancy acne caused by the hormonal changes of pregnancy. “I cried over my face more than I would like to admit”, she confessed when she was finally able to share it, already holding her second baby in her arms and with her skin gradually returning to normal.

Her video on TikTok surpassed 111 million views, not out of vanity but honesty. “Every pregnancy is different. Sometimes it is romanticized too much, but it can also bring very difficult challenges”, she wrote. And in that sentence, thousands of women finally felt understood.
@ayyitslala Survived 9 months of chaos, cried over my face more than I’d like to admit, and now I’m officially someone’s mom 😭✨ Healing in progress…
