Michele Godoi Clark posted the photos herself. Her face, 14 days after a phenol peel, still raw: red skin, scabbed over, shiny from the chemical burn that is only just beginning to heal.
And yet she celebrates it. She says “the result is already noticeable”, that it was done under anesthesia, that it doesn’t hurt “as hard as that may be to believe”. She clarifies it proudly: she didn’t have it done in Brazil, because phenol is banned there.
Why is it banned? Because recently a young man died after undergoing the same procedure, performed by someone with no clinical training whatsoever. Phenol creates a controlled burn that penetrates down to the dermis — but without real medical supervision, it can cause anything from infections and permanent scarring to cardiac toxicity.
Michele still defends it, shares every day of the process in her stories, and continues inviting her followers to join in.
