Billie was just 2 years old when a fire changed her life forever. Her home was deliberately set on fire, and as the flames spread, her mother went in to rescue her. ❤️

“My mom was the one who went in for me and saved me”, recalled the Australian content creator.

The little girl suffered third-degree burns to her face and hands and remained hospitalized for three months. Her mother, by contrast, emerged uninjured.

“My home was deliberately set on fire, but that part is a mystery, because we still don’t know why it happened”, Billie said, also explaining that, fortunately, the structure of her face was not altered.

However, the wounds didn’t end when she left the hospital. Growing up with a different appearance was difficult, and for years she compared herself to other people.

“I spent a lot of time looking at others, wishing I could look ‘normal’ too”, she admitted.

Today, she shares her life, her love of beauty, and her smile on social media. And when she thinks back to that little girl, she feels deep tenderness.

“I wish I could tell my younger self not to be so hard on herself about the things she couldn’t change”.

The girl who once wished she looked like everyone else is now learning to celebrate her own beauty. ❤️
