Cindy Foster heard it loud and clear: her daughter knew exactly how she wanted to arrive at prom. And no, she wasn’t asking for a limousine.

Cindy runs a family funeral home in Rockwall, Texas, a business she loves and that runs in her blood. So when her daughter told her that she wanted to arrive at prom in a hearse and climb out of a coffin, the stage was set.

When the night of the event arrived, the family made the plan a reality. The hearse pulled up in front of the party venue, and when the back opened, the young woman climbed out of a coffin. Yes, a coffin. An entrance that would be hard to miss among her classmates.

Some families inherit jewelry, recipes, or surnames. This one inherited the darkest sense of humor, and the daughter decided to debut it in front of the whole school.
