Hernán Crespo revealed a surprising anecdote with Cristiano Ronaldo when he eliminated the Portuguese star’s Al-Nassr in the Asian Champions League while he was coach of Al Ain, in the United Arab Emirates:
“The first leg goes well for us, we win 1-0. The thing is, we went through on penalties and, of course, with all the admiration for a guy who gives and has given so much to football, you take your hat off to such a figure”.
“So I went over and he was angry. Logically, he had been eliminated by us, I went to hug him and said: ‘Thank you for everything you gave football, for what you give it.’ And he looked at me and said: ‘I still haven’t retired’”, the Arab football star shot back.
