In recent days, social media in Mexico has been flooded with videos and accounts about a mysterious figure nicknamed the “Batman of Lagos de Moreno”, a vigilante who is said to patrol the streets at night.

According to what has been shared on platforms like X and Instagram, this man goes after motorcycle thieves and, after detaining them, restrains them on public roads, leaving the recovered vehicles near the scene so their owners can find them.

The phenomenon has sparked a sharp divide of opinion: while some users see him as a kind of urban hero who acts where the authorities do not, others warn that this is a dangerous case of vigilante justice.

According to local reports, the authorities have already begun an investigation to determine the identity of the individual and clarify the acts attributed to him, since so far there is no fully confirmed official version of his actions.

What is certain is that, whether real or not in all its details, the so-called “Mexican Batman” has already become one of the most talked-about viral phenomena, reopening the debate about the limits between justice, virality, and public safety.
