Some smiles say more than a thousand words, and this bride’s seemed to be asking for help. 😬 While they posed for wedding photos, the groom’s mother began repeatedly kissing her son on the shoulder, even when his new wife was standing right beside him.
The scene grew increasingly uncomfortable: he looked tense, but did nothing to stop his mother, while the bride watched what was happening and smiled as if she wasn’t quite sure how to react. The mother, for her part, continued kissing him as if nothing were wrong.
The video sparked criticism online, where many felt that the woman was crossing boundaries at a moment that should have belonged primarily to the newlyweds. “Get a grip, he’s your son, not your husband”, one person commented, while another shared a thought that quickly summed up what many were thinking: “You can’t build a home in a space where your mother still feels like she owns it”.
And although much of the criticism was directed at the mother-in-law, the groom didn’t escape unscathed either. Many questioned why, despite looking uncomfortable, he failed to set any boundaries while his wife could only watch the scene and keep smiling for the photo.
