Nitya could no longer stand, walk, or land properly. A cat attacked her while she was on the shoulder of a friend of her owner, and since then her legs have lost all coordination. Flying had become a memory.
Her owner, Marc Joseph Colando, in Davao, Philippines, did not give up. The idea came to him one morning during meditation: build a transparent cabin out of a plastic bottle and attach it to a drone. He tried it, and it worked immediately. Nitya rose up, singing from inside, and gently descended to the ground.

“She is my second heartbeat”, Colando says about her. The video went viral, although not everyone applauds: some users wonder whether the experience is really comfortable for the bird. Colando insists that Nitya returns happy from every flight, and perhaps that is the only proof a heart willing to invent the impossible for love needs.
