Grant Amato, 29, could not accept that Sylvia, the Bulgarian webcam model on whom he had spent all his savings and stolen 200 thousand dollars from his family, was not his real girlfriend but was only interested in his money.

But his obsession was so deep that when his parents forced him to cut off communication with her and placed him in a rehabilitation program for addiction, he preferred to end their lives rather than stop talking to her.

Amato, who worked as a nurse in Florida, had been fired from a hospital for stealing medications and was living in bankruptcy, but that did not stop him from spending a fortune on Sylvia, sending her money so she could buy lingerie and other things he requested, while lying to her by saying he was a millionaire professional gambler.

When the truth came to light and his family intervened, Grant decided that the only solution was to eliminate those who stood between him and his virtual love.

Grant Amato was found guilty of three counts of first-degree premeditated murder. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole
