Bruce Lincoln had every reason to leave. He grew up in Porto Velho, Rondônia, with a father who, according to his own account, rejected him and beat him for being gay.
He said that the man drank, spent years in prison, and once set the house on fire, and that he said he’d rather have a son who was a thief or drug addict than a homosexual.
Today, Bruce is an influencer and comedian on Instagram, and his videos show something no one would have imagined: he bathes his father, changes his diapers, and feeds him.
The man suffered a stroke and lost some of his independence. According to Bruce, his siblings don’t help with his care, so everything falls on him.
He holds no grudge. “He assaulted me, but now I’m the one who’s here. Because when you have love, you care”.
And he clarified that he isn’t sharing this to pat himself on the back, but so other families can reflect while there’s still time.
