His sister sent him a WhatsApp at 3 in the morning saying she had brought a cat home — what he found when he woke up was not exactly that 👀

At 3 in the morning, María came home from a party with a rescue mission: she had found an abandoned “kitten” on the street and brought it into the house. Before going to sleep, she sent her brother a WhatsApp with very precise instructions: “Don’t be scared, I’m letting you know so you won’t be surprised if you see it in the hallway, okay?” 🐱

What he found when he woke up was not exactly a cat. Walking straight toward him, with those huge black eyes like two giant marbles, there was an opossum —also known as a tlacuache, chucha, or tacuacín depending on where you live— staring at him from the hallway. An American marsupial with a pointed snout and a rat-like tail, which his sister had mistaken, with the best intentions in the world, for a domestic feline. 😅

@adrity__35’s video blew up on TikTok: 23 million views, 4.4 million likes, and one single question nobody could answer: how did María manage to grab that creature with her bare hands? 🤔
