Hayden was 10 years old in 2018 and had just been kicked off the school bus for bullying another child.
His father, Bryan Thornhill, from Roanoke, Virginia, decided the lesson had to hurt: he made him run a mile to school, in the rain, while following him in his car and recording every step on Facebook Live. The video went viral almost immediately, with more than 1.6 million views in the first few days.
“I wouldn’t change a thing. Last week he was out of control, this week he hasn’t gotten into trouble. This is called parenting”, Thornhill said without hesitation to the cameras. For him, it worked.
