A 36-hour labor ended in an emergency C-section, a hemorrhage, blood transfusions, and cardiac arrest. Doctors diagnosed her with peripartum cardiomyopathy, a rare pregnancy-related heart failure, and kept her on life support in an induced coma for two days.
