Holland Taylor is 83, Sarah Paulson is 51, and they’ve been together for about 12 years. However, neither has taken the step almost every couple takes: sharing a home.
She explained it on The Drew Barrymore Show, where the host asked if it was true that they don’t live together. Taylor summed it up directly: they spend as much time together as possible, because work constantly keeps them apart. In New York, Paulson stays at Taylor’s apartment when they’re both in the city.
But there’s one detail that changes everything. In Los Angeles, Paulson already has a new house… that she still hasn’t moved into. According to Taylor, she’s been staying at her place for almost a year. “We’re together as much as geography and our jobs allow”, she said.
It’s not a recent secret: in 2024, on the SmartLess podcast, Paulson had already said that living apart was the key to their relationship. They can be together when they want to, and when they don’t, they aren’t.
They met in 2005 and started dating a decade later. Since then, their way of loving each other has been as much talked about as their age difference.
