On the red carpet at the Tribeca Festival in New York, Justin Trudeau — former prime minister of Canada, 54 years old — completely forgot that dozens of cameras were pointed at him. Standing next to Katy Perry at the world premiere of her concert film, he put his hand on her butt. Without any attempt to hide it. Without caring at all.
The video spread within minutes. The comments split into two camps: those who accused him of being “disrespectful” and of “marking his territory” as if Perry were a possession, and those who simply wrote “I’m jealous” with several fire emojis. What no one disputed was that the man who for years handled G7 summits with the face of an impeccable diplomat was now starring in the most talked-about clip of the day for completely different reasons.
The couple made their debut that night as a done deal: Perry in a fitted white dress, Trudeau glued to her, both smiling as if the world didn’t exist. They met in 2025, months after Perry ended her years-long relationship with Orlando Bloom. The singer had already hinted on Instagram that “she never knew karma could be so rewarding”. After this video, it seems she didn’t know it would be so literal either.
